COMMENTS NO: YEAR/2012/155

"CUSTOMER:'In no other Banks, there is any rule that an illiterate customer or account holder of a Bank should have his photo in his passbook.' OFFICER:'Don't try to fool us. As per the KYC norms of RBI, an account holder of any Bank in India should have his photo pasted in his passbook. Don't argue unnecessarily. Paste your photo on your passbook and then only we will allow you to withdraw money from your Savings account by taking your Left Thumb Impression (L.T.I) signature. Very soon; RBI may also install machines in all the Banks to verify the thumb impressions also to avoid any fraudulent withdrawals from the SB A/c of an illiterate customer.'"-Arindam Sain
